1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using VaultKey ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.
These Terms apply to all users of the App, including free and premium users.
2. About VaultKey
VaultKey is a local, offline password manager that stores all your data exclusively on your device. It uses industry-standard encryption to protect your passwords.
3. Data Storage and Security
All data stored by VaultKey is:
- Stored locally on your device only
- Encrypted using AES-256 encryption
- Protected by your device's secure storage
- Never uploaded to any external server or cloud service
- Never shared with any third party
4. Encrypted Backups
VaultKey allows you to create encrypted backups of your vault. You are solely responsible for:
- Keeping your backup password safe — it cannot be recovered if lost
- Storing your backup file in a secure location
- All consequences of losing your backup password or backup file
Backups are protected with Argon2id key derivation and AES-256 encryption. Without the correct password, backups cannot be decrypted by anyone, including us.
5. Premium Features and Payments
VaultKey offers a one-time Premium upgrade available through Google Play Billing. Premium unlocks:
- Unlimited folder organisation
- Folder structure preservation in backups
- Filter by folder in the sidebar
All payments are processed securely by Google Play. We do not collect or store any payment information. Premium is a one-time purchase — no recurring subscription.
For refund requests, please follow Google Play's standard refund policy.
6. User Responsibilities
By using VaultKey, you agree to:
- Use the App only for lawful purposes
- Not attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
- Not attempt to bypass, modify, or circumvent any premium licence checks or security features
- Keep your master password and backup password secure
- Take responsibility for all data stored within the App
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
VaultKey is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that:
- The App will be error-free or uninterrupted
- The App will meet your specific requirements
- Any defects will be corrected
While we implement strong encryption and security practices, no software is completely immune to all possible attacks. You use the App at your own risk.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, VaultKey and its developers shall not be liable for:
- Any loss of data, passwords, or credentials
- Any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Loss or corruption of backup files
- Forgotten master passwords or backup passwords
- Any security breach resulting from device compromise
9. Privacy
VaultKey does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. The App operates entirely offline on your device. No analytics, crash reporting, advertising SDKs, or tracking tools are included.
The only external service used is Google Play Billing for processing the optional premium purchase, which is governed by Google's own Privacy Policy.
10. Modifications to These Terms
We reserve the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
11. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or suspend access to premium features if we detect any violation of these Terms, including but not limited to circumventing the premium licence or tampering with the App.
12. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from the use of the App shall be subject to the jurisdiction of Indian courts.
